Assisted Living
Whittier Cottage facilities are state-licensed Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE), commonly called "Assisted Living" or "Board and Care Facilities" are non-medical facilities that provide a level of care that includes assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) to persons 60 and older. We provide room, board, housekeeping, supervision, and personal care assistance with activities like personal hygiene, dressing, eating, walking and medication management.
This level of care and supervision is for people who are unable to live by themselves but who do not need 24-hour nursing care but must meet care and safety standards set by the State and are licensed and inspected by the Department of Social Services and the Community Care Licensing Division.
